On June 10, 2022, Dr Antonella Valoroso presented the paper “Uguccione Ranieri di Sorbello (1906- 1969). A Constructor of Cultural Bridges between Italy and the U.S.” at the international conference “Translation, Modernity, and Cultural Transfer Between Italy and the United States”, which took place on June 9-11 at Villa Giulia, in Pallanza, Italy.
The conference was part of the PRIN (Progetto di Rilevante Interesse Nazionale) “Transatlantic Transfers: The Italian presence in Postwar America 1949-1972”, a project co-organized by Università del Piemonte Orientale, Politecnico di Milano, Università degli Studi Roma Tre and Università di Scienze Gastronomiche of Pollenzo (https://transatlantictransfers.polimi.it/it/).

The project “Transatlantic Transfers: the Italian presence in post-war America” aims to redefine the contents of research on relations between Italy and the United States, passing from the description of the cultural Americanization of Italy to the recovery of specific experiences of Italianization of style in the United States and from a national/international to a transnational/global scenario.
