Romeyne Robert: From Female Entrepreneurship to Cultural Diplomacy

We proudly announce the release of the June 1st episode of the Italian Innovators series presenting a portrait of Romeyne Robert, American expat in Umbria at the turn of the 20th century, pioneering female entrepreneur, educator, and founder of one of the first schools adopting the Montessori method.

In this choral episode, created accordng to a more “symphonic” storytelling format, you will discover the forward-looking impact of her work, combining industry and female emancipation, American pragmatism and rediscovered Umbrian traditions, progressive education and inspiring motherhood. You will also learn about the living legacy of Romeyne Robert and her son Uguccione Ranieri di Sorbello in the two foundations dedicated to them: the New York-based Sorbello Foundation and its Italian counterpart, Fondazione Ranieri di Sorbello in Perugia.
